Swan Hill College - First Transition Term 2

On Wednesday the 27th of May all of the Grade 6’s were given the opportunity to pretend to be a college student for a day.  We took part in a range of different classes that we would do in college. They included Drama, Music, Tech/Woodwork, Science, Art and an Amazing race around the school. Overall it was a fantastic day!

Students reflections!

Mackenzie 6W- I enjoyed making origami frogs in Art.

Ruben 6K- I really like wood work because we were allowed to use saws by ourselves.

Une 6N- I really enjoyed music and getting to know all the different teachers.

Brady 6N- My favourite part of the day was the amazing race around the school. We had to listen to clues around the school.

Kaiden 6W- My favourite activity was wood in tech because we got to make a book mark and use tools.

Bethany 6K- I enjoyed seeing how different the school is to ours.

Ella 6W- At the collage I really enjoyed the amazing race around the school.

29/07/15 - Email from Kate

HI,
I have a couple of Year 8 girls developing a proposal to run a transition program to help students settle in to high school They are wanting to target students who are shy or have trouble making friends, along with students from the very small feeder schools.  I am wondering if you could tell me how many students from each  of your schools you would recommend to participate in this type of program so I can give the girls an idea of numbers.
Ta Kate
